All bets are in and the season officially started today. I don’t have cable anymore so I had to figure out how to watch the race on the Internet. The live stream started in the nick of time…just as the light turned green. I watched the whole race in Polish…didn’t understand much except when Robert Kubica pitted…announcers got all excited.

The starting grid changed little except Alonso overtook Massa on the second turn. Massa could have easily blocked him but it would have been too undiplomatic for the first race as teammates.

No refueling rules are making this interesting to watch. Pit stops are incredibly quick and in Polish TV the on screen timer starts when the cars enter pit lane and stop when they exit…much more valuable info in my opinion.

17 laps in… Vettel is still ahead and pitted followed by Massa. Looks like Vettel will win this thing. Nico Rosberg is holding Schumacher back quite well.

My two other Brazilian hopefuls are out… Di Grassi and Senna… very disappointing start for their F1 careers…would have been nice if they had at least finished the race.

Hamilton flew past Barrichello on the straightaway…sign that the Cosworth engine is still not up to snuff…at least in my opinion.

Hamilton is holding Rosberg back…I’m impressed with Rosberg right now. Massa keeps setting fastest lap but still behind Alonso.

Lap 23 and a very nice fight for 9th place between Barrichello and a Toro Rosso car… I don’t understand Polish!

Jenson Button is faster than Schumacher and is gaining on him.

Will post this and continue later..

The field of Jenson Button and Brawn remained in GP Grand Prix of Monaco, and the English won from end to end to achieve its fifth victory in six races in the season. In the second position to Rubens Barrichello, the team won its second consecutive and third dobradinha the year. And the Ferrari, finally showed signs of real recovery conquering the third and fourth position, with Kimi Räikkönen ahead of Felipe Massa.
Button has the advantage of claiming pole, evident in the winding circuit of Monaco, but that was not being used. In the last ten races in Monte Carlo, only three drivers won from end to end. The English opened difference of 16 points to Barrichello in the classification.

With the victory, and the leadership of the World shoot, Button made the equal of great champions of Formula 1. Beyond, few drivers won five of the first six tests of the season: Michael Schumacher, Nigel Mansell, Jackie Stewart, Jim Clark and Juan Manuel Fangio.

“He said the weekend was not special, it was a way to take the pressure of the shoulders. We have a little at the beginning of training, which makes the taste even more special. This victory means a lot. I win, because this victory enter for the history of the pilot and the team, “said Button.

Rubens, who came third, left and right and took the second position to Kimi, but could not with good phase and Button failed to break the fasting Brazil in Monte Carlo, which has lasted 16 years since Ayrton Senna won in principality in 1993.

“I am very happy. I got a great hit at the weekend, but the rating could have been better. I am pleased to make a few dots, and now I follow in search of victory which must surely happen,” said Barrichello.

Felipe Massa has the most aggressive and took the evolution of the Ferrari car, which has already demonstrated the drills have left a bad step backward. The Brazilian made his best race of the year and somou points for the second consecutive test. Nelsinho Piquet was already hampered by Sebastien contribute and abandoned at the beginning.

Proof

Rubens took the bad start for Kimi and jumped to second place, while Massa was closed due to Vettel and Rosberg lost position. But the Brazilian’s Ferrari hit the German recovered and the fifth post.

Lewis Hamilton, who dropped to last place because of the exchange rate, which took Timo Glock left the boxes and also left and, passing Trulli and Kubica. The Englishman finished in 12th position.

Hamilton by just not abandoned the race after it screw with Heidfeld. “I was thinking of one of the Rocky movies when he says: ‘I want to see the end of the fight,’ and I went to the flag as the accelerating during the race I could,”
proved the English. Once back in the sixth, Massa took the performance of Ferrari and attacked Vettel. Not only exceeded due to lack of space in ToneCompany. The Brazilian went straight, and had to brake to restore the position. Rosberg took advantage and took the position of Felipe.

Vettel had problems with tires and all that were delayed after him. In the tenth round, he go to the boxes. At the same time, contribute Nelsinho hit and left the race. The Brazilian has yet to return, but the car was damaged and is collected.

“That is what is putting new drivers in Formula 1 that are not experienced enough. In Monaco, even with a slower car in front has to be careful. He gave me a fight that almost hurt my neck,” shot Nelsinho in an interview with Globo.

At this time of the race, Barrichello had similar problem with Vettel and fell to the pace. Rosberg and Massa, meanwhile, were alternated in the back faster. Rubens, slower than Räikkönen, delayed the Finn, who was the first of the leading to go to the boxes.

In the 16th round, Vettel crashed and caused the yellow flag, but the Safety Car was not to come. Barrichello took advantage and went to the boxes, getting back to the front of Räikkönen. Then it was time for the Button, who returned for the opening tip and 16 seconds ahead of the peloton driven by Rubens.

Back faster than Massa and Rosberg took the fourth place. After the second round of stops, the platoon of four remained, and Button crossed the finish line first without scares. Massa finished in fourth and with the fastest round of 1min15s154.

Jenson Button confirmed the dominance of BrawnGP and frustrated the aerodynamic package announced by other teams for the GP of Spain. The British made his third pole position of the year, with the time of 1min20s527, won in the last hour as the pilot opened his jink missing only two seconds to the end of the third part of the training.

Sebastian Vettel, the Red Bull, wide behind, and Rubens Barrichello is in second row, third. Platoon of the new aerodynamic package, Felipe Massa was the main focus. The Brazilian has a fourth position, the best classification of the Ferrari in the year. Nelsinho Piquet and will also be topped off in 12th place.

After winning the first post, Button admitted that was close: “I got to spend two seconds of the flag and I was surprised when I heard the engineer talking I had the pole,” says the leader of the championship with three victories. The UK is very close to achieving his best result in the GP of Spain.

Barrichello also admitted that the result did not expect: “I was surprised. I believe that Jenson was incredible, did a great job and deserved to get pole. I had a good round and I am very happy. I have a good car for the race.”

Vettel, in turn, for not just nails his second pole of the season, and was not very happy with second place. “Pena, who could not beat Jenson, who won the pole at the last minute,” said the German.

German driver Sebastian Vettel repeated the brilliant driving of the Italian Grand Prix of 2008 and won Sunday’s Chinese GP claiming Red Bull’ first victory. Vettel had performed a similar feat in Monza, when he was driver of Toro Rosso last year as the Shanghai race was raced completely under rain.

Only 21 years old, the driver born in Heppenheim celebrated his second win in Formula 1. For Red Bull, the party was even greater, as Australian Mark Webber finished in second place and the team not only celebrated the first victory in F-1, but the first 1-2 victory as well. “What can I say? I am extremely happy because it is my second victory in the rain again. I hope it rains more,” joked Vettel during the press conference.

Winner of the first two GPs, Englishman Jenson Button placed third, but kept the championship points lead. With 21 points, he has six more than Rubens Barrichello, who was fourth in Shanghai.

The Chinese test also marked the end of the hegemony of Brawn GP, which dominated the first two tests, ironically for a team that does not have the rear diffuser with cracks, which facilitates the passage of more air and enjoy the Brawn GP. “We must work and not to leave the Red Bull win. The GP of Bahrain will be more contested,” Barrichello promised.

If the English team saw the finish area in 2009, another team celebrated the recovery. The McLaren took its two drivers to an area with scores of Finnish Heikki Kovalainen in fifth position, just ahead of English Lewis Hamilton.

Ferrari is already in your ordeal. The Maranello team was off again for points and bitter his worst start since 1981 when it became the first three GPs with no points. In China, Kimi Räikkönen was placed 10th and Felipe Massa left with electrical problems. This is also the first time that Brazil is the three tests without scoring since you came to Ferrari in 2006.

“I’m sad, but it will pass. It was a shame because doing a spectacular race,” says Massa, who also had never started a season in F-1 without scoring in the first three tests.

Brazilian Nelsinho Piquet also leave Shanghai with little reason to remember the evidence, it was 16th and last among the drivers who completed the 56 laps. The cars return to the Formula 1 track in the next Sunday, when the dispute of the Bahrain GP.

The race The weather provided great chance of rain in Shanghai and hit. With the bad weather and poor visibility on the runway, the GP started with the safety car on the track, but the measure did not prevent that Massa and Adrian Sutil rodassem. Nico Rosberg and Fernando Alonso took to hold parades in their boxes, and only safety car left the track in the eighth round.

No problem, Vettel kept the lead and still had the “protection” from Webber, who took second place with a parade of Alonso. Intermediary who shone in the platoon was Hamilton. The current champion overcame Jarno Trulli and Kimi Räikkönen, took fifth place already in the 11th round, but then he Rodou and lost five positions.

Mass and contribute and also came on the track. The Brazilian, who came in 12th, was third in the 18th round, when Robert Kubica hit the rear of Jarno Trulli and forced to enter again the safety car because of the debris left by the driver of the Toyota, who had to leave the GP. Two laps later, Massa seen eroding the good proof, it had electrical problems and the car left crestfallen.

Without Brazil, the safety car stayed until the 22nd and return around Hamilton was again the protagonist. He overcame Räikkönen to take fourth place, while Vettel was quiet in front, followed by Button. Seven laps later, the English of Brawn lost the second position for Webber, recovered in the 32nd round of the Australian after a mistake, but was then overtaken again.

Since then, Red Bull left in Shanghai. Vettel made the second stop in boxes in the 37th round, but once again behind Button. Even with a heavier car, the German has easily exceeded in the 41st round, two rounds after Webber also held the last exchange of tires, to regain the lead.

After the parades of Barrichello and Button, Red Bull just need to control the dobradinha in the final laps. Who regretted that the end of the GP was the Force India. The team walked to add its first point in Formula 1, but an accident of Adrian Sutil, who occupied the sixth place, just with the dream team in the 51st round.

Lewis Hamilton led the first practice session giving the three ‘diffuser teams’ a run for their money. But the second training session proved that the teams that use the controversial equipment with diffusers in the rear are still ahead of rivals.

In Friday morning practice, the three best lap times belonged to cars that were questioned this week the Court of Appeal of the FIA. Points leader Jenson Button was the fastest, with 1min35s679, 0s025 just getting ahead of German Nico Rosberg of Williams.

Brazilian Rubens Barrichello, Button partner of the GP Brawn, ended with the third best time of day, with 1min35s881. The first car without the diffuser was Australian Mark Webber of Red Bull, followed by team mate, Sebastian Vettel, and three more cars that use the piece: the Italian Jarno Trulli (Toyota’s), Japanese Kazuki Nakajima (the Williams) and German Timo Glock (Toyota’s).
Best of the initial session, Hamilton finished only in 13th position, with 1min36s941, just behind the Brazilian Felipe Massa of Ferrari, at least it settled again to overcome the Finnish Kimi Räikkönen, 14 placed in this Friday. Already the Renault cars have hit the runway with the Chinese, leaving Nelsinho Piquet in 16th place, three positions ahead of Spanish Fernando Alonso.

The result in Shanghai, which was a drop of water to the champion of 2007, which deplored the current stage of Ferrari. “Currently we are not able to fight for the title,” bubble Räikkönen.

Button does not disguise the satisfaction in mastering other evidence, which may leave him more shot in front of the World. “The balance of the car really improved on the latest evidence. We work on two types of tires and I was very pleased. But we still have much work for tomorrow (Saturday morning, when will the training officer),” he emphasized.

According to the World, Barrichello was another that celebrates the ease with which the car of GP Brawn has adapted to the Shanghai circuit. “We achieved a good fit in the car, our focus was also working with the tires we fairly and information, improving the performance of the car in second practice,” he said.

Despite the 13th place, Hamilton also left the track happy this Friday. “I feel that the car is more stable. We are definitely a step ahead in this race because the car is strong in curves and have a good basis for the weekend,” hesaid. Mass already admitted that Ferrari is still behind the “trio of the diffuser. “Without the KERS, we lose a little performance, but won on the aerodynamics. We improved the car, but we know it will be very difficult to achieve them,” he said.

Lack of natural light contributed to the premature end of the race early in Sepang last weekend, affected by rain.

Races in Asian countries were originally changed to start later to increase the worldwide audience but drivers maintain that safety is more important.

Autosport ‘s magazine reports that the GPDA, (Grand Prix Drivers Association) will include a recommendation on schedules for 2010. The GPDA also wrote directly to Ecclestone over the issue.

“We spoke with Charlie [Whiting, FIA race director of] the briefings and express concerns about what could happen. And our fears have become true,” said a source from the GPDA.

“In Australia, it was very difficult. Because of the Sunset, it was difficult to see the first curve and leaving the pit lane. In Malaysia, the fact that the light is becoming less intense things difficult.”

“It was not the rain the problem in Malaysia, as it can rain heavily on the 14h or 18h. But there was no chance of relargada because it was getting very dark, and that was the problem,” added the source of the English magazine.

While drivers and organizers of the Malaysian GP Ecclestone pressure, he insists not see anything wrong in the schedule. “Only we did not know the rain. It would also be the rains had started the race 14 hours,” he said.

The Australian’s Ducati completed the circuit in 1min57s053, surpassing the current champion, Valentino Rossi, Yamaha, by almost four tenths of a second.

The Japanese maker had three motorcycles in the top 4 with the American Colin Edwards of Tech 3 in third, followed by the partner de Rossi, the Spaniard Jorge Lorenzo.

Alex de Angelis was the fifth with the Gresini Honda, with Italian Loris Capirossi of Suzuki, completing the six fastest.

Among the rookie riders, Finnish Mika Kallio ended in seventh on his Pramac Ducati.

Team Hayat, which absorbed former factory team Kawasaki, finished ninth with Italian Marco Melandri.

Two riders did not do especially well: Spain’s Sete Gibernau was the 16′s with Ducati Francisco Hernando, while Daniel Pedrosa, recovering from wrist surgery closed the list of the 18 competitors, 4s382 slower than Stoner.

The French team prepares changes to the bottom of the car for the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai this April 19.

These changes however will only happen if the controversial diffusers (currently used by Brawn, Williams and Toyota) are approved by the FIA Court of Appeals on April 14th.

Possible changes in the flat bottom of the A29 would be the preparation for the final installation of the diffuser of Renault – which happen in the Grand Prix of Spain in Barcelona, 5th stage of the championship in 2009, scheduled for the month of May.

But not only the French have a plan B to Shanghai. The teams McLaren and Ferrari will have a new aerodynamic element in the 3rd race of the season, which is called ‘double diffuser’. The gain is estimated at around 0s5 by teams.
